Got My Car Dyno'd

Took my car down to this place by my house with a dyno jet. Put the car on there did 3 pulls, ended up with 312rwhp and 340rwtq. The car is a 97 SS wiht stock ram air, 94-95 mac headers with no cats going to a magna flow, pcmforless tune, 3:73 and 315 on the back, oh yeah mcleod clutch and msd wires. That fan wasn't doing anything for my ram air since it was blown into the nose of the car with my hood up.

I want to get those headers for my '96. How was the install, mainly how did you connect the y-pipe to your catback? How much louder is it without cats? 315hp is good!

Re: Got My Car Dyno'd

It wasnt to bad at all, some of the bolts are a pain to get to, but you kinda have to expect that on a lt1. You have to buy an S-Pipe to connect the OR Pipe to the origanal 96 97 cat back. Which is like 80 bucks shipped from thunder racing. Far as it being loud, it is extermly loud. When the guy dyno'd my car he had plug his ears becasue it was to loud for him. And that is on a magna flow which is a little quiter than a flow master in my opinion.

Re: Got My Car Dyno'd

Awesome numbers! I dont think Ive seen a car put down such good numbers with so few mods. Its more proof that Mac mids are definately an awesome header choice! I realy dont see any advantage to going to LTs unless youre oging to be running a really healthy cam that can take advantage of the bigger primaries.

You are doing damn better than me, though I know my car has a bit more in it. I drove it to the dyno and just strapped it on, hot. If everything wasnt so hot, I'm sure it would have put down another 5hp or so.

I'm thinkin about adding a 160 stat, tune and a full catback to my car, going back to the dyno and seeing what I can put down. I want to get up to 300rwhp, matching you would more than exceed my expectations.

I'm sure the tune and letting it cool will get you close to the 300hp mark. the more i think about it 315hp with those mods is great. I really want to get some macs and 1.6rr's and put down a little more power.

Nice numbers man. Time for a cam! What size are the primaries on those headers... 1 5/8 or 1 3/4?

those are prolly the 1-5/8" mac's. I don't think they have 1-3/4" mid's

If you do put a cam in it you can expect about 20 more horses with long tubes.
I picked up a consistent 2 tenths and 2mph when i put 1 5/8 primary Jet hot hooker long tubes with no cats on over my SLP 1 3/4 primary shorties & stock cats. That was with a CC305 cam
