What code(s) did you find when you scanned it? The only code that would relate directly to the coil would be something like DTC 42... but that code can also be the IC Module, the wiring or the Opti. There's a fairly complex diagnostic logic tree in the factory manual that walks you through a system check.

i'm not sure what the codes were, I don't have the computer the shop ran on the computer said it was the coil, after we already put a new one on, then charge 400 dollars, and that wasn't the problem, i'm pretty pissed about that, anyways, changed the wire from the distributor to up top, not sure what it is called, but was told they get heat cracks on them, the wire is all the way on, now isn't starting at all. i have asoutley NO CLUE what to do!

If it was my car I would'nt keep throwing parts at it. I would follow Injuneer's advice.

If you paid someone $400 to diagnose your car, your are fully entitled to receive the results of that diagnosis, including the exact codes. You don't have to bend over for these shops
