definitely, gets better lift during launches and you cant even feel it during normal driving.

i took mine off, never even noticed it except for during launches. soak the bolts in pb blaster a few days in advance and use an impact. theyll probably break, but oh well.

so you just noticed that the weight shifted more to the back. How bad does it hurt handling though?

Yes, remove it! Best thing I ever done! I love the way it feels.
You won't believe the difference in lift. Much better weight transfer, and I got better 60' times as well.

I can't tell much difference in daily driving either. Just don't take ramps as fast, curves ect. and you will be fine. Trust me, I had a debate like this, and everyone encouraged me to try it. Ya can't lose, you can always put it back on if you don't like it

Put a little note on your dash reminding you every day that your sway bar is removed, lol hehhee

Trust me, you will regret not doing it sooner

The sway bar is intended to keep the car from swaying too much on turns and giving the car a sometimes unwelcome hard ride. Even my 85 Caprice has one so I'm sure that most if not all cars since then have had it or something similar to do the same thing. As far as I know, it is basically just used on hard turns to keep the car stable and make the turn feel less rough to the passengers. I don't know anything about the performance aspect of removing it though...

Don't! I know a guy that did that here, and it looked pathetic whenever he pulled up anywhere while he was turning. So much body roll!

If you don't drag race your car seriously I wouldn't bother removing it. I just removed mine recently and picked up a little over .1 on my 60' time which was awesome, but I'll still probably put it back in for street driving though. There is a very good chance you will snap the end links removing it. Mine only had 60k on it and I soaked it with PB blaster and they still snapped. I bought some ES poly ones for only $15 to replace them but just be aware they will probably break.

It depends entirely on your priorities. Drag race? Then remove it. Go to the strio once a year? Don't bother.

Thumbs down

I did this about a month ago and I would never do this again, car handles worse than a jeep. It feels unsafe in corners etc. Even if I gained a full second at the track I would still pass on this 'mod'.

What's wrong with doing this compromise??? (It's what I'm planning on doing anyway). I just replaced the old front sway bar "pins" with brand new poly bushings and new pins, which I thoroughly anti-siezed and covered with a rubber hose. Now for those three or four times during the year when I go drag racing. I'll just remove both front sway "pins" and, hopefully(?) get the benefits of improved weight transfer and quicker 60' times. When I'm done racing, I'll just replace the "pins" and have the benefits of good cornoring during street driving. Since the stock front sway bar is tubular, (i.e.hollow) anyway, it only weighs about 12 lbs, so I think the quicker 60' times come from the weight TRANSFER properties of NOT having the bar attached (i.e. functional), rather than the weight SAVING of just the 12 lbs. The pins can be removed and replaced in about ten minutes, not much work for a .1 reduction in 60' times.

It is a compromise.
I have Nittos on 15x10s in the rear and skinnies up front so it was just natural for me to remove the front swaybar.
You get used to it and if you don,t go too fast in the corners you won,t miss it.
Mine is not a daily driver but one of my friends does drive his daily without a swaybar and he does not miss it either.
