Should I replace fuel filter?
Should I replace fuel filter?
Well i just got my car, and i donno how things are really supposed to be running... and i just wanna make sure everything is in peak condition. Is there a difference in fuel filters? what kind should i get if u recomend i change the filter at all
Of course, why not?
It's only like a $10 part and it takes 15-30 minutes at most to replace it.
You will need needlenose pliers for the back side of it (to disconnect the fuel line) and a couple of open end wrenches for the other side. (I usually use a bigger and a smaller adjustable wrench)
Remember to change it when the car is cold and don't forget to releive the gas tank fuel pressure by removing the gas cap.
As for what brand, I've always used AC Delco fuel filters, but it probably doesn't matter.

Yeah, definitely change it. You might want to do plugs and wires while you're at it. I like to do a tuneup when I buy a car, but that's just me. At least pull a plug and check the condition. As for the fuel filter, get a pan or something to catch the fuel that's inevitably going to spill out. Put it in your lawmower when you're done
Also, if you can bleed some fuel pressure from your schraeder valve, its real easy if you have a fuel pressure gauge.
