Should I install the UD Crank Pulley??
Re: Should I install the UD Crank Pulley??
Thanks for the part #'s BUBBA. So you guys really think it will charge badly eh? I don't understand how that can really affect anything because when you are at anything above 800rpms (which is like 90% or driving) it is charging. So why should it even matter if it drops lower at idle. Won't it just recharge once i get moving again? Maybe I'm just anxious to install em lol...

Just go for it: I too have the baby crane on my 97SS, M-6. My idle is set at 950. You will like the cam and adding UDs can only help since your goal is to get as much of the crank power to the rear as you can and every little bit helps. JMHO
Re: Should I install the UD Crank Pulley??
Be mindful that removing and reinstalling the alternator pulley can be difficult without the use of an impact wrench since the pulley wants to turn when you are wrenching the nut on or off.
I'd advise just stopping by a garage and having them change the pulleys. Probably cost a couple of bucks, but will be worth it. JMHO

I have a 900 pound big *** impact and it still would not get the nut off because its hard to hold the fan in place. The impact force is absorbed unless you can hold the fan solid. I had a pair of vice grips and a breaker bar on the fan and the impact knocked the nut right off.
