Should I have the rev limiter raised?
I'm getting a PCM reprogram from madz28.com, because I just got 3.73s. Should I have the rev limiter raised a little, to maybe 6000 rpms? My engine has 80,000 miles on it.
Ok. I'll take a shot. If you are M-6, of course I'd recommend bumping the limit to around 6300. It's emmbarassing when you hit 5800 and the engine bogs when rowing through the gears.
If A-4 (which I suspect you are have, since you are going with 3.73s) I'd still have it bumped up. Probably for the same reason.
On the other hand, I obviously don't know. I'd still recommend having your limiter increased some.
Perhaps someone else will give you a better answer.

It won,t hurt to increase the limiter a bit.
It gives you a little headroom before the computer rudely interupts your fun.
I set mine at 6500 and then set my ACCEL 300+ ignition box at 6250, the box is much less harsh rev limit in my opinion.
Instead of that jerking motion the stock limiter does the accel box does more of a stutter.
