yes you should get one. plus it ever goes bad, you dont have to pull the whole water pump assembly again, just unbolt and bolt on a new one. make sure you use a relay

I love mine, it keeps the car very cool and is great for dropping temps with the motor off while waiting in the staging lanes. I drove with my first one in the street for two years and it never failed. Now I use that one as a back up.

I kinda wish i put one in when i changed my wp. The stock wp has a tendency to leak on the opti, at least the electric one would leak in front of it. Also, 10rwhp seems to be common and I haven't really heard of any pump failure from anyone yet.

Got one... just watch the fuse every 7-10k miles because i have it doubled up on the iginition... (a dual fuse splitter is hooked up to the ignition fuse slot on the black fuse box so i can run 2 fuses). My fuses look kinda worn after 10k miles... I recommend buying.. i like my CSI a lot...

i say do it, you can either wire it up yourself or buy the electric wp wiring kit from summit or jegs for a nice clean simple install.

Get a pump from CSI. Its cheaper and you can order it from summit racing for $169.95. part # CSI-901LT1

I thought If your water pump was leaking you had to replace the whole housing, someone please correct me if im wrong. My waterpump is leaking from that hole above the opti. To fix this would I just need a Mezeire water pump?

They have reliability issues. I got one back in the day when 10 hp seemed like a good gain for $120. Now I realize the mechanical pump will always push coolant thru the motor even if its on its way out. Where the electric pumps basically just goes out so you wont realize it till that red check gauges light hits you in the face while youre sitting in bumper to bumper taffic. And by then the temp is already pushing 300 degrees in the heads so youre gonna need new head gaskets to go with that new pump.
Plus my CSI(now CSR) had a bearing failure about 2.5 years after I installed it. Lucky for me the pump still worked and didnt blow a fuse but you could hear it spinning over the noise of the motor and exhaust.
Im not saying the electric pumps are junk but for a daily driver they are risky. But yeah a big plus is I can change a waterpump in about 15 minutes and am able to run one of the strongest timing chains on the market.

I've been running a CSI electric WP for about 3 years now on my car (daily driver) and I'm very happy with it. Keep an eye on your temp gauge and carry a spare fuse and relay for it in the glovebox just in case though. I think the CSI comes with its own fuse assembly...if it's the weak looking tubular plastic one with two halves that twist together, replace it with a blade fuse holder. I used their fuse/holder assembly and it melted through within a couple of days.

I dontmean to steal this thread, but can someone help out with my question..........when replacing the wp will I need to purchase the whole unit, or will I just need to purchase a mezeire wp?
