Should I "cam up?" CC503->???

If anyone has upgraded from a 503 please share you experience.

I am putting an electric water pump in and thinking about swapping cams at the same time. My current CC503 was my choice back when my setup was behind an A4 with a stock converter. Since tuning and my M6 swap, the car idles near stock now and has great brakes. If i can get 25 more hp with a e-pump and cam change then it would be worth it imo. Please post if you have upgraded from this cam to something else. All my current mods in sig.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

You have LE3 heads, why not match them up with a nice custom grind from Lloyd?
Something like his 228/235 .560/.560 109 LSA should work out well.
I think 230/236 is about as big as you want to go with a stock bottom end, you run out
of usable RPM very quickly and give up far too much down low with the old 306 or 847 cams.

Thanks for the reply. I can not find anyone with this cam that has posted comments. I was looking at it and the CC XFI one that is similiar but on a 113 LSA. Don't know what the difference would be as of yet.

If the hp increase comes on above 6000rpm then I wouldnt do it though.

If you are not looking for horsepower above 6000 rpms, then just stick with your current camshaft. Most if not all larger camshafts will throw the horspower/torque curve higher in the rpms.

I went from a 212/224 521/533 112+2 camshaft to a 224/230 605/622 112+2 and gained 20 hp. But, they were both about even until 5800 rpms.
