should i buy this?
Go to KBB.com (Kelly Blue Book) and check the Blue Book value for
1) Dealer trade-in
2) Private Party
3) Retail
The first will be the lowest and the last the highest with #2 a reasonable private party asking price.
Usually the Private party value will be about $2000 more than what the dealership would pay him for it, so I would add $500-$1000 to the Dealer Trade-in value and offer him that.
Don't over-rate the car in your excitement, there may be some unkowns lurkin out there so even if it looks "excelent" al least check "good" vs "excelent" value. Good Luck

I would say give hom what he is asking. That is cheap as hell for so few miles on the car. My buddy bought one with 67,000 on it and paid 7. I would not go that much less than what he is asking because it would in a way be a slap in the face.
