Should this combo run 12's?

Hot cam kit, slightly worked heads and 3.42 gears out back. Long tube headers, decent set of plugs and wires and a good ignition system. Or should I run a bigger cam than whats in the Hot cam kit. I hear that the hot cam could stand to be a little bigger. I don't want my car to be a ***** to the wall straight line car. After hitting mid 12's, I'd like to work the suspension over so it handles real well. O' the engine is an Lt1 and it's going in my 87 Iroc.

Depending on how "lightly" worked the heads are, with traction you could see low 12's.

VERY easy 12's though.

A buddie of mine doe's some outstanding work on lt1 heads. We will be cleaning them up. Removing castings and things like that. Also, traction will be handled by bmr. Lower control arms, subframes and Nitto's on 17x9 ZR1's. Cool.

I was wondering the same thing. The LCA's and Nitto will help way more than you think. I would say high 12's with a good hook. Let us know. I'm taking mine to the trcks in the next 2 weeks. I just hit 3k and I'm hoping on going 12's with my set up below. I don't wanna get my expectations too high that way I wont be disappointed.

I love it actually. I got ES mounts and no catz so at times even this cam sounds a lil rough for an everyday car. The aint a day that goes by that I don't get a comment on it. The reason I say comment is that most are "Hey, what you got in there? It sounds awesome." But every now and then I get "Put a muffler on that car." Thats only happened 2 times though.
