shorty spark plug part #

I need a part number for some shorty spark plugs. I just installed some pacesetter shorties in my lt1 and the shorties absolutley suck a#%. The air fittings are wrong, the fitment sucks major, and I would not recommend them to anyone. N-e ways can someone give a part number for the shorty plugs because half the spark plugs won't even fit becasue of the primaries are in the way. Can someone also let me know if they got the wrong a.i.r. fittings for their car....if so where did you get new fittings. Sorry but these headers aren't worth crap......anybodys help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

Re: shorty spark plug part #

I have a 95 and my AIR fittings were a different size. It isn't Pacesetter's fault. GM decided mid year to change the AIR fittings on the 95's for some reason. For my application I managed to find some brass fittings at a local hardware store that screwed down into the AIR fittings on the headers.

As far as the plugs go, welcome to the world of shorty headers. They really don't offer much clearance at all for plugs... At least not any I've seen. I do use the standard length AC Delco's with mine.

Also, be prepaired to burn some plug wires. I highly recommend the Taylor OTVC kit to get them out of the way.

Good luck!

Joe

I used the regular spark plugs on mine. Just make sure you turn the spark plug socket with an open end wrench.

Since this is the first relevant thread that comes up when you search for shorty plugs, i figure i'll post the part number (P526S) and save you the aggravation i've had to deal with all morning trying to figure it out. They are about $12 a pop and aren't THAT much shorter but may be able to give you what you need clearance wise.
