Shorties w/stock y-pipe?

My car has a Borla y-pipe and it is great quality and nicely welded up to my cat (single cat). I would like to add some shorty headers, but am looking for some that bolt right up to my borla y-pipe (shoudl be same as bolting to stock y-pipe). Supposedly Dynomax used to make some, but they dont anymore??? Anyone know another company that does, or have some of those Dynomax's for sale? Thanks a lot.

I had some Edelbrock shorties that used the stock Y pipe. If you plan on keepng the shorties for awhile I highly recommend getting the coated. If not, and you don't mind them looking like ***, then cheap out and save a few bucks. Beware, when I say they will look bad I mean it...

Well in that case, what shorties do you recommend? Edelbrock, BBk, Hooker, etc. I heard that Mac headers are great but are a mid length header, will they bolt to the stock y-pipe?

Most single cat style shorties include a new y pipe from what I've seen. When I got SLP shorties they cam with a new y, I don't know if you could get them new without one but maybe you can. If that's the case I would just get them and sell one of your y's.

Well that rules MAC's out of the question. So for true shorties there are BBK, SLP(expensive), Hooker, JBA, Pace Setter, Edelbrock... What are you opinions/experiences with these? And hey if anyone will be wanting a y-pipe, I may have one for sale soon!

I doubt many shorties are going to bolt to the stock y-pipe, and anyway its very difficult to buy shorties without a new one. Do yourself a favor, buy some MAC headers and sell your old Y-pipe to make up some of the damage.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I would like to keep my y-pipe, it is already welded and is larger than the y-pipes that come with the headers. I find lots of headers on ebay that are being sold without the y-pipe, but im not sure if they fit. Can anyone give me a definite answer as to which headers are built such that they bolt to the stock y-pipe? Some have said almost all will then others have said that none will. Someone has got to of done this before or know someone who has. Any help is appreciated guys.

Cool

You're gonna get alot of different if not contrary views on this one. Best thing to do is call/email/fax tech support at Borla and inquire which shorty headers fit their application.

Do same with manufacturer you pick to purchase headers from.
