i am planning on building me a 355 short block, but was wondering if there are any places that sell assembled shortblocks that are affordable and reliable? i found golen's, and can get a 350 or 383 shortblock from them with eagle I beam forged rods, JE forged pistons, eagle cast cranks, ARE main bolts, balanced, and with a fel pro gasket set for around $2900. this is about the same it will cost me to build my own! it might be better to use theirs. has anybody heard anything of them or know of any other places to check out for assembled short blocks?

anybody with experience buying assembled short blocks?
