shortblock assembly

I was wondering, how do the rods go together in relation to the crank/block. i have eagle i beams. everywhere i look has no problem telling me how the stock rods go but both sides of the eagle rods are the same. the only thing i could find was telling me to put the notches that hold the bearings in twords the outside of the block on each side. thanks -dave

Re: shortblock assembly

The bearing chamfers go towards the outside of the crank journals and the notches end upwhere you said. Make sure your pistons are on there right, though.

Re: shortblock assembly

Yeah, bigger chamfers face away from eachother on a rod pair to mate up with the crank journal radius.
