Short in MAF wiring how to test?

Every time I have to move the MAF for anything I through a code. I had to swap the Radiator inlet tank today so guess what? SES code! This time however, I cannot get it to go off by fiddling with the connector like I have done before. The MAF is new about 3000 miles so that is not the cause it's self. (it did the same thing with the old MAF as with the new MAF). So, what is the way to test the wires in the MAF harness and what should they read?
Thanks
Brad
