How fast would you spin a stock short block with 106 K on it?

Re: Short block

With my stock 130K car, i try not to spin it anymore than 5500-5800. Really there is no point of spinning it any higher with stock cam cause it makes no difference in power from what i read on the boards here.

Exactly, peak power on stock lt1 is around 5,000, spin it any faster and the power is just droping off, you should be able to feal it.

Re: Short block

mine runs .2 quicker in the 1/8 when i shift it at 6K instead of 5500. i know guys who are spinning them 7K after h/c installs. the optispark doesnt like that much rpm, but the shortblocks are fine with it if they are in good condition.
