Having some running issues.

I just got done with my cam install last week. It usually drives fine but tonight i had a pretty bad problem. The car was running good and i parked it and went inside for like 15 minutes. I come back out and start it up and it dies as soon as the idle came down. When i turn it over it acts like it wants to start but wont. If i let it sit for a minute and try it again it starts up for a second but dies right after that. The few times i actually did get it to run I gave it gas to try and keep it running but it would not respond to at all except for a couple times I had it to the floor and all the sudden it would respond and rev up smothly but then just die right after that, it did this a few times. Its almost like something just decided to work all the sudden and respond but then just die. The opti only has like 5k miles on it. The fuel pump has about the same but I have gotten the fuel tank VERY low a few times but i cant beleive it would burn up that fast. Anyone have any ideas as what the heck might be going on here???

Next time it does it, unplug the injector wires and wait about 5 min. then try to start it, if it fires up let it run tell it kills it self. I'm betting it's in the tune and the ecm is dumping to much fuel in there.

Re: Having some running issues.

Well I just went out and found my problem. Tried to start the car and prime the fuel pump. I didnt have a fuel pressure tester but I did the old press the schrader valve needle in with a screw driver and I got ZERO pressure to come out of that baby, it was bone dry in there. I cant hear my fuel pump come on either so I guess I need to go to AutoZone and get another one for free seeing as how this one is like 8 months old. Good guess tho Cartel.

Does the fact that AZ fuel pumps have free replacement make up for the time you have to spend replacing them????? Stop wasting your time with that junk and either buy OEM or a high quality aftermarket. One day that AZ crap will leave you stranded or worse. Just imagine pulling out onto a freeway and you can guess the rest.

Well I would be ALOT more pissed off right now had I not done the trap door method when I changed the pump last time. At least now I can change a pump in 30 minutes or less. Ill have to wait till I can afford a better pump.
