Shoebox, A TPS question

I used that picture you gave me a few days ago of my TPS to figure out which wire was the output one, however, how do I hook a wire into that wire. There are no ends exposed on it to twist together. Do i have to shave some of the coating off and wrap my 2nd wire around the bare metal of it? I don't know how to go about this.
Thanks
Bill

Can't remember the details of your original post, but are you installing an electronic WOT switch? And it only requires that you connect to the signal wire from the TPS, not the ground wire also?? Knowing what you need to attach might help as to the best way to connect it.

IMO, the cleanest way would be to go back up into the harness where the convoluted tubing is covering it and cut the wire, slide some heat shrink tubing over the wire, rejoin the wires with solder and then shrink the tubing on. The easiest way would be to use a Scotch wire connector and "bridge" onto the wire in a convenient location where it could be hidden.

You don't need to cut the wire if you are not going to use heat shrink tubing. Just skin the wire a little, so you can solder the other wire to it. Tape has a habit of coming loose, so do the best you can with it. Maybe secure it with a small zip tie when you are done taping.
