Shoebox I need your help with vats again
Alright i put the box in a couple of weks ago. Everything ran just fine. then On Friday I went to start my car and nothingbut a flashing securitylight
.I would really like it if you could give me very good instructions on how to bypass it using resistors because the last write ups someone gave me was for a person that was good with electrictronincs.
Help me please!!!!

not shoebox, nut.....
the resistor thing just jumpers the two wires for the reisistor reader on the column with a fixed value resistor. it shouldn't go out like that. the problem can be if the resistor is of poor quality, the value can change due to heat. making it not read well.pull the resistor out again and see if it looks burned or something. if you can measure it with a ohmmeter. if you don't have one, go to radio shack and "test" some of theirs with your resistor ("test" the most expensive one they got, the cheapo ones are not very accurate). kinda odd.
i am working on a black box that will bypass the ENTIRE vats system. i.e. a box that you hook to 12 volt and ground, and clip ONE wire at the pcm, that will work. mainly for swappers, like i am installing an lt1 into my 88 conquest. when i call the junkyard here in austin looking for a vats box, they are like "what is that?" one of the yard was even telling me how they couldn't get a tow in started cause they don't have a key.
the only real advantage to a box like this is that i can wire up the power to a switch. no pushy the switch, no starty the car.
and it is cheaper than buying a vats box, if you can find one.
does this sound like something with a sales potential?

shoot me an email.
i am goona make it so that it will work for ANY passkey 1 or 2 (hopefully).
some of the pcms take a different freq. input. mine should have a dial that will output the correct signal for any passkey system.
of course testing will involve starting my own car.
