SHOEBOX - Heater hose question

Rob, I've looked through some of your diagrams. On the 1995-1997 heater hose diagram, what is part 13 - gm pn#10188036 and what does it do. Mine has broken apart from the hose. I'm wondring if I can delete it completely, or if that will be catastrophic for my other heater components. Thanks. - Brandon

It's a flow restrictor/reducer, whatever . I am not really sure why it is there. To make a wild guess, I would say that perhaps more flow through the heater core might make some unwanted noise or some thing <shrug>. I am sure there are people out there without the thing. If there are any side effects from removing it, I don't know.

It's a 'flow restricter'...
I'd leave it in.. [but if you're stuck you could leave it out for a while..]

Thanks! I'm just anxious to get the T/A running again since it's not ran since November. ;D
