Talking shoebox, come inside please

i always see you helping others out with pretty much whatever problem anyone might be having

i see your car on your website and it has some modifications ....

i have never seen you mention anything about your cars performance, in anyway so i'm curious to hear something about it!

how do you use the car? what kind of tracks does it see etc. etc.?
do you have 2 or is that the same car just photchopped around?

Man, Brent is going to send this post to the lounge!

It's my daily driver. It was my "company car" for a couple years when my territory was all of Arkansas and I put quite a few miles on it. When I was offered a company car (which was not at first), I told them I wanted to drive my own. My feelings were, if I was going to have to drive, it might as well be fun (and it was).

I did some minor mods, like the cam and valve train, suspension stuff, but it has never been to the track. We don't have such great race places to go that are real close (though Memphis is a couple hours away). I would like to run it sometime when the opportunity is right. I de-badged my car for a cleaner look.

The other car in the pic is my son's 1996 V6 car. It was actually bought first and is really why I bought my car about a year later (naturally, I had to have more power ). That pic is several years old. He babies his car and has only put ~30k on it in 7 years. Aside from the lack of power, the 3800 V6 car is really fun and so much different to drive.

Some guys were doing some concrete work for me once. Both the cars were in the driveway. I asked them to tell me which one they thought was faster. They chose the V6 car (because it has the 4 pipe Trans Am exhaust (a Christmas present to my son) on it and mine has the Two On The Left).

Thanks for asking.

I don't know that we have ever been in a situation to compare. I have ridden with him in my car and he is a competent driver. Though, he has not been around the horsepower that I have in my driving lifetime and experience counts for something.

[edit] Just remembered...

It wasn't me that came home late on night after having hit a curb in my buddies neighborhood and knocking a tire bead off the rim! Blamed on slick streets, no less. He said the whole action was kinda cool, though (except for the curb). I'm sure his eyes were as big as that wheel.

Ahh, tech content.

No headers. The cam is doing well. I am trying to squeeze more gas mileage out of it, LOL!.

No, not skurred. It sure would have been an easy thing to do when I had my engine out recently. I'm not really directing any more money toward my car, unless I have to. I have some other priorities at this time.
