Someone tell me what exactly this means or does:

"Adjust a4 Transmission Cable" what does this do? and also, what will be the outcome of doing this?

well a4= automatic 4speed

when you move the shifter and the gear is not put in all the way, or puts you in the wrong gear, or sometimes you will pop in and out of gears.

It depends if you really need "adjustment" it sounds like your putting a tranny in just put the selector in the car to park the manual move the tranny to park hook your cable up and your done . That usually does it for me.

I take it this is for a 4l60e, cause if you have a th350 they have kick down cables and gear select cable(thats what i call it). Kick downs are a different story.

Only 1993 Z28s had cables.

 

I agree with Spinner. You don't have a tranny cable on your '95.

 

Well, there is a cable from the console shift lever to the gear selector lever on the transmission and that is what the "how to" is for.

That's a cable? I always thought it was a shaft. I guess I never really looked at it when I had my auto.

But I would call that a gear select cable, and the 'tranny' cable would probably refer to the kick down cable or something. <shrug> I'm sick, maybe it's just the pills the Dr's got me on talkin.
