Which shocks to buy?

I have heard all kinds of stuff on shocks. I have heard Hal's are the sh**. I am in need of new front shocks especially. I am considering bilsteins, kyb's, hal's, and stock replacements. Price is kind of a consideration. It's not a drag car anymore. I want streetability. I dont want a worse ride than it already has. Please let me know what you guys think on this issue. thanks, Michael

look in the group purchase forum.

combination motorsports(cmotorsports is the username) currently has a GP on Hals.

I have never heard any complaints about Hals.

I just bought a set of Hals... whish I had seen this GP before ordering but oh well. I don't know what you're into driving-wise, but with the Hal's adjustability, there is likely to be a setting there that you'll like. My car is still coming along (new motor and everything) so I can't comment on the ride first hand but the quality of the QA-1 is par excellence. Plus the shock is rebuildable for less than the price of most new shocks/struts.
If I were an auto-x guy, I'd probably just go with a Koni or Bilstein but for road and drag-race, the shock is an excellent buy in my opinion.

*I should be getting kickbacks*

I've heard good things about bilsteins. I can get them for half of the price of hal's. I dont drag race, and chances are good that i would prolly never switch the settings on the shocks. If i dont use my car at the track are they worth the extra money. Bilsteins come with a lifetime warranty. If they go bad, they replace them. Hal's dont have crap for a warranty. I'm leaning towards bilstein's. Anybody else got an opinion. Thanks, Michael

My first choice would be to go with Hals. Bilsteins would probably be my next choice.

went with bilstein HD's. They are all on back order though. Not enough and too many people want them.

I bought the HD Bilsteins and couldn't be much happier with them and I do road course duty with my car a lot.

But, If I had the money I would definitely consider the Hals...as a buddy has them and they are awesome at the road course with the adjustability for the drag strip.
