shifting probs

My car wont shift.

Sat night I let my fuel get too low and the car started growning, I went and filled up with gas and was fine for the night and nothing else happened. Two days later I started it up and the car wont shift. I thought I sucked dirt from the bottom of my tank into the fuel filter and who knows where else.. I swapped out the filter and put a new one on and the car still has the problems. Basically, the car wants to be in third gear. When I am stopped and remove the car out of park into reverse of drive the tranny and whole car actually jerks.. On the street it is like I do not have a first or fourth gear. So it seems like something is clogged but yet why does the car favor third gear and not want to shift. Next I was going to try and run injector cleaner through the system.

So obviously my car has a huge problem, heres everything I can think of:

transmission is blown

shift solenoids are off

something is off with my tuning/PCM

What are your guys opinions????

I have a H/C package ready to install and this starts happening!!

Re: shifting probs

If your car runs fine in 3rd gear, I don't think you have a fuel problem. To be sure you should hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and verify you have around 40 psi with the vacuum hose removed from the fuel pressure regulator. Also a good idea to tape the gauge to the windshield and see if the pressure holds under load.

I think you have a tranny issue.
