Question shifting to drive

94 t/a with auto trans, when shifting to reverse it's fine but when putting in drive takes about 3 seconds before actually engaging. All fluids ok, any ideas.

thanks in advance

Forward clutches are probably smoked.

WRONG! Once the forward clutches are applied (with the delay), they stay applied.

I've been building these things for 14 years.

Once it's in gear it drives and shifts without any problems, and the perfomance button works as well. Since the ECM controls the trans, is there a adjustable time delay built into the ECM ?

No. No "time delay" for the engagements
