Question Shift Kit

my friend just got a shift kit put in his ws6
and said it breaks the tires loose very easy

i was thinking of getting one put in mine. but i was thinking it might slow me down because my car already gets crazy when it shifts in to 2nd at WOT and i wouldn't want it to get any worse when racing.

so what do you guys think?? would it be better to put one in!?!

it depends on how many washers you put in, 2 washers very firm, 3 washers broken neck....the shift kit also helps the tranny longevity, if your Z is a daily driver, i recommend to put only one washer in, since it will a snappy shift but it wont break your tire loose, especially if you have 2.73 rear end like mine

if i drove a civic why would i be posting on this board??

i know its good for extending tranny life
but i can already get sideways when it shifts into 2nd without a shift kit and im and thinking a shift kit will make that problem even worse..which would slow me down because i would be spinning in 2nd or i'd have to ease off to prevent

i bet with a decent set of tires you wouldnt get sideways... i remember when i first got my firebird it had some ok tires on it.. i would get sideways everytime hitting 2nd..... but now... nope nope... just grip and go

i have 215/60/16 tires on my car, and i would not get sideways at WOT.... what are you mods btw?? do you have a stock 2.73?? do you have a stall convertor??

no cheepy tires on my car!!! i have bridgestone potanza R780 i think thats the number for them..any way they are some bad@$$ tires way better then the goodyear GS-C i had on before and im running 32-25psi in them, i don't wanna go any lower because i'll have to buy tires every year because of the soft compound. i don't have anything really done to the car just the basics
CAI...TB!...coil...CAT!...... tranny monunts just the small stuff you know?
and they are the stock gears in the rear end.
maybe my car has somthing in it i dont' know about aha i wish!!
