SES Light.. only when 140+mph

My SES light used to kick on at 120mph when I had a nasty Manifold leak.. Ive fixed that leak and my Y-pipe sounds like I didnt get it back together tight. Little bit of a a leak.. Now when I floor it the car flies to 120..pulls a bit slower to 130 and at 140 stops pulling and throws a SES light. Previously I could bury the Speedo with little effort. Any ideas? I dont have a scanner to check to stored codes

I wouldn't worry about it, you don't need to be going that fast on public roads anyway, its irresponsible.

Gee thanks. Exactly the help I was looking for.

Anyways.. I can get to 150+ if I stay half throttle..just under WOT it throws the code. I guess Ill pay an ol buddy of mine a visit tomarrow and see if I can use his scanpro.

If anyone has any ideas.. feel free to toss them out.

Geez you guys need to lighten up.
I agree it is irresponsible to do it on public roadways, but what if this guy was doin it at a road race track or oval? Little far fetched I know but this board is here to help people out with car problems not so you can be someones mother.

Can,t give you much help without the code so we know where to begin.

IVE NEVER BEEN IN ONE ACCIDENT just goes to show you that you dont have to be an idiot to know how to drive fast and have control of your car

BTW what year is your car? sounds like you have some sorta exhaust leak or somthing sucking air in and its causing the o2's to get outa wack at high speeds! you definately should just get the codes pulled and go from there!

I really resent your attitude against "old" people. You might want to think a little before you shoot your mouth off.

Now, Fred, there is no need to resent young drivers that brag about how many tickets they have gotten and are arrogant enough to think they are good drivers because they have not been in an accident.

There was a guy in town that thought he knew how to drive a Viper (maybe he had never been in an accident, either). He and his girlfriend are now dead from a wreck that cut the car in half around a tree. Don't ever assume you know too much.

S8ER95Z: a scan should help you pinpoint the issue.

It's your "GOOD LORD YOU'RE GOING TOO FAST!" light.

Well if your Y-pipe is the only thing that has changed since this started happening it sounds like a good place to start troubleshooting.

Right on man! I used to feel the same way until I lost my license for over a year and spent my 4th time in jail for being a stupid f'ing driver. The road isn't a race track. Things happen way to fast at 140mph. It really sucks having your parents have to take you back and forth to work (at the age of 22) cause you got lucky and got caught instead of unlucky and died.

That's not exactly the best way to say you're not an irresponsible idiot. People like you are the reasons isurance rates get hiked each year.

I agree that he didn't ask for opinions... but going and attacking people because they drive responsibly is stupid and immature.
