SES light at low rpm
SES light at low rpm
My car has recently developed a poor idling problem with a noticeable tick. When I first start the car, it spits and sputters under partial throttle. After it warms up, the sputting stops and the SES light kicks on at idle but shuts off once I give it some gas. I had it scanned and it said the right o2 sensor was reading lean (O2 sensors are new delcos). I'm quite sure the header gaskets need to be changed considering there is carbon build up around the primaries with a noticeable tick. Can the lean condition be related to the exhaust leak? I have hooker LTs with copper gaskets now, but I was wanting to go with some Percy dead softs. Any suggestions? Thanks
yes it would be getting a lean reading from an exhaust leak. I'd suggest going with the earls hedder gaskets. part number EAR-29DA3BERL and EAR-29DD3BERL. They are very thick gaskets and Have worked very well on all types of hedders.
