SES light at ful throttle?
SES light at ful throttle?
My check engine light comes on sometimes at full throttle and goes back off when i return to a cruise. I scanned the codes and it said that TPS voltage high, so i put a new sensor on it and still same problem. With the scan tool hooked up and the pedal to the floor it reads 4.80 volts. I thought that was what it is supposed to be? Any ideas are appreciated
Re: SES light at ful throttle?
You might be seeing a slightly higher voltage when the engine is actually under load (as opposed to sitting in your driveway). According to the manual I have, the code (P0123) for TPS circuit high voltage sets:
Monitor Strategy:
Circuit continuity detects a continuous short to high in the signal circuit for the TP sensor.
Malfunction Criteria & Threshold Value:
Raw TP sensor signal is (greater then) 245 A/D counts (4.9 Volts).
Secondary Parameters & Enable Conditions:
-Ignition on
-Condition present for 1 second
Time Required & Frequency:
-90 test failures in 100 test sample
-6.25 msec/test
-Continuous
Try and get a voltage reading at full throttle on the road.

Re: SES light at ful throttle?
What is your open throttle voltage? If its pushing 0.90V, you could slot the holes and back off to 0.50-0.65V. That is a common problem with some 58mm TB's.... I ihad to slot the holes on the TPS with my Holley 58mm.
