SES light on expressway - probably EGR?

OK, I removed my EGR system and put a resistor in the connector. Lately, I have had an occasional SES light that will come on while I'm on the expressway, cruising about 70-80 mph. It will usually go out when I exit the expressway and stop, then cruise about 45 mph or so. I took it to the track not too long ago, and didn't set the SES light while racing or on the way home (expressway). Any ideas? I am planning on getting a laptop with scanning software, but money's a little tight now.

Try to find someone in your local club with a laptop and cable and scan it. It's the best way to find out what the code is.
It's just not worth taking guesses since there are 100 codes and it could be just about anything.

From what others described though, it sounds like EGR...maybe CCP. What resistor value did you use and how did you know that was the value you needed?

I had used a 2.2k ohm resistor, I had read that was the correct value somewhere (probably on this board). I'm not too worried about it, but it would be nice to know.
