SES Light Appeared
SES Light Appeared
I was workin on my 96 Z28 M6 today putting in the SLP throttle bodyair router. It was an overall easy process to install this part. However, when i started the car up after this installation, it stalled twice, scaring the crap out of me, then started up like nothing was wrong. BUT, after starting it up, the SES light stayed on. The car still drives fine, i like the increase hp from the air flow increaser, but i am wondering if i just triggered the light to come on, or if something is really wrong with what i did. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean a throttle body "air foil"? Did you make sure you put all the gaskets back in place? Did you make sure the lower edge of the inlet air bellows didn't "roll under" the edge of the throttle body, or tear? Did you plug all the sensors back in that you may have disconnected - IAT, MAF, etc?
If the SES light came on, get it scanned..... why guess?

Well thank you state of CA...Autozone doesnt just lend the scanner out with no deposit or anything here, appearently they arent even supposed to help you out on your car. Since i only had $40 in my wallet, i was out of luck for the $183 deposit that they wanted. So much for that idea until i get my parents to tag along, or get some more money. Hopefully my friend still has his neighbors one.
Check all the vacum lines connectiong to your intatake...
Make sure your intake lip is completely on the Throttle body...
Check recheck and double check all of this...
And double makesure.... you didn't tighten the intake clamps improperly and cause the intake elbow to slip off...

I was just thinking...when i was removing the intake elbow, i attepmted to pull what i now found out is the blue optispark plug coming off the top of it. Would this have anything to do with what ive been experiencing, cause ive heard a lot of talk about the optispark causing problems, hopefully i didnt just trigger some.
