Angry SES light after TB Bypass!

ARGH! So I FINALLY got the stupid clamp off the left side, finished up the TBB and screwed everything back tightly and now I have an SES light after taking the car around the block. The only things I can think of are that I don't have the air filter on yet (it fell off when I was taking off the intake elbow) and I didn't bleed the coolant lines. Any clues?

You wouldnt think that the TB Bypass would cause that. I bet there is something else. You said the MAS and the IAT are plugged in maybe the elbow to the throttle-body wasnt on tight???

Id check other things and get that code read. the PCm dosnt monitor the Coolant in the throttle body so it shouldnt be throwing any codes. check your coolant level and see if everything is plugged back in right.

I wouldn't think low coolent would throw a code, just the dash light.

Maybe you knocked another sensor harness off your TB? I'd go through and check all the connections first.

The K&N filter is back on now. I can't feel any air sucking in at all. Is it supposed to be like this? I figured that was correct, maybe I'm wrong.

Alright, where can I get my car scanned? I have OBD1. The symptom I have, aside from the SES light, is that my car takes a lot of cranking to start now.

yep...the two plugs on the throttle body are plugged in....he one on the intake elbow is in....the one on the maf is in.....waiting now to see if resetting the pcm will get rid of the SES light. Please tell me my opti isn't gone. I remember seeing my opti totally dry, and I checked it again after I started up my car right after the throttle body bypass, but I still have doubts because of how common it seems to be that people get their opti's wet.

i also have the k&n and recently cleaned it. i didn't get any codes but i did notice an audible change. i can hear the air being sucked in from the drivers seat with the window down. if you dont feel any air moving through the filter then somethings wrong with your air intake. i had a bear of a time hooking it up to the maf and making a good seal. IMHO sounds like improper air flow.

Check all you air pipe connections. Make sure they aren't torn/dry rotted/ripped. The lots of cranking part makes me think you're sucking or losing air someplace you shouldn't be.

Make sure the intake elbow is COMPLETELY on the throttle body and MAF. Sometimes people put it on, and the bottom part isn't on all the way.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Luckily I just received my PCM cable from AKM Cables, since I was planning on getting a madwolf tune later. I downloaded FreeScan and ran it on my laptop and it showed Trouble Code #15 (Coolant Low Temp) It also showed the coolant temperature at -40degrees C (absolute zero), meaning it was either broken or not plugged in. I checked under the hood, and found the coolant temp sensor unplugged. I must have knocked it off when I took off the intake elbow! Thank god I figured this thing out....cranking the car 3-4 times everytime I wanted to start the car was getting annoying.
