Hello there, this is a funny situation that I hope somebody has experience and answers about.

When cruising in 6th gear/low RPM's in my 95 Z, my SES light comes on, then goes off upon city driving or when I shut the car off.

No subsitute for a scan, but I'd guess its for the EGR system flow code. The PCM can only run the diagnostic for EGR flow when the engine is operating under extremely steady operating conditions. MAP must hold steady for 1.5 seconds, and throttle position must be between 5 - 20% with no change preceding initiation of the test. These are the conditions that are most likely to occur during a low RPM "cruise".

 

I'm betting on the EGR code also. Mine does the same thing.

 

mine did the same thing until I got rid of egr..I was always like wtf is wrong with this thing now

 

Had the same problem. Pulled off the EGR valve and cleaned it. Haven't had a problem since.

 

i had the same problem with mine after i added headders and deletd the cat, i took off the egr and cleaned everything and nothing changed. my theory is that there was not enough back pressure for the egr system to work properly after the mods.

 

Its your EGR get new One or delete it out..
