The Purge Valve went... what does this thing do? They have this thing for plumbing (Which is crap I sell) but unsure if its the same idea/thing for cars. Or what happens to our cars if this thing goes.

Chris basically what it's function to purge vapor fumes from the tank. The PCM tells it to open from time to time and let the engine suck up the vapors from the gas tank.

I dont think it will hurt to run without it functioning for a bit, you might get choked by some gas fumes. May be advised to no smoke in the car. Basically get it replace or checked as soon as you can.
