It just keeps going on 10, then off 7 over and over again. What does this mean? Every once in a while it stays on for a few minutes. But it literally goes on for 10 and off for 7. I timed it like this for 5 minutes.

It means get it scanned. It's trying to tell you something, but you are not listening.

I think he's listening, he just doesn't speak LT1.

Like shoebox said, get it scanned. If you don't have a scanner, you can take it down to Autozone and they'll do it for you for free. That's what I've been doing for years now because I'm too cheap/broke to buy a scanner.

For some reason, the autozone and advance auto parts scanners do not detect my car when I plug them up. I plug them up, turn the key to the on position and it says that it still needs to be plugged up. Beats me, maybe I need to hotwire the damn thing to the battery.

That's strange; I haven't experienced that before. Maybe check the connections on your data port under the dash; it sounds like the scanner isn't picking anything up.

Another thought- make sure the monkeys at Autozone are using an OBDI scanner. I've seen them try to use OBDII scanners on OBDI cars before.

95's have an OBDII port with an OBDI computer. Makes it really gay.

No one at Autozone understands that. They only scan OBD-II, anyway. When they see the OBD-II shaped DLC, they think it is OBD-II, which it is not. Then, when it does not communicate, they will tell you stuff like "your PCM is bad".

Check your cig lighter fuse I had the same problem and the cig lighter fuse was blown... I changed it and the scanner worked.

That's exactly what it is! The cigarette light fuse!

They may use obdII scanners, but they also scan obdI. I have had my computer scanned at auto zone before with the same scanner. I'm pretty sure thats not the first time I've mentioned that.

You need to invest in a scan tool. Here's a link to some refurb units at a good price: www.autocheckup.net/

Would a 95 Z28 need the 12 pin or 16 pin adapter?
