Exclamation Seriously Ineed Of Help!!!

I need a new flywheel on my car and I ordered it from Thunderracing...in the mean time I've been driving my car around only when extremely necessary...Today I had to go to the TEmp Agency and as I was on my way over there. I went to shift into second gear and previously before my clutch was not dissengaging fully and I had the associated problems of a flywheel cut to far ETC. So anyhow as I went to shift into second the gear ground and the car kicked back and made a very noisy grinding sound. After it was over I realized that my clutch wasn't dissengaging at all... I had no responce in 1st or 2nd Gear...my car is stuck in first gear...and I can't shift out of it. If I go into second there's no respose...or resistance. While driving the other gears are all locked out. when the car is motionless and my foot is on the clutch I can shift into the other gears...but when I let up the car shudders and dies out. The car is stuck in 1st gear mainly..and even with the car off in the neutral position 1st gear is still engaged. WTF is going on? I know my flywheel was causing the dissengagement problem before...but know what has happend? What would cause my car to get stuck in a gear like that? how might I go about repeairing this? might it be the fork? I was thinking maybe the throwout bearing got f34ked... Bu I have no tranny noises...or anthing...1st gear works as usual...unfortunately it's the only working gear...WTF can I do?

If you can take the shifter and put it in the neutral position, and the car stays in first gear, then its an internal trans problem. I can't think of anything the fork or flywheel can do to cause the trans to stay in one gear. When you take the transmission out to replace the flywheel, manually turn the input shaft with the car in neutral and try all the gears and see how the output shaft turns. If it does the same thing when you hand turn the input shaft, you can assume that your transmission is FUXORED.

Just sell it and buy a GTO.

With the engine off and your feet on the floor you should be able to put the shifter in any gear. If it stays stuck in 1st, it's a trans. problem.

My jacked flywheel is 1 problem...but if it's the tranny.... it's 1st and 2nd gear that are not commong on...what might it be? Is it hard to fix internal tranny issues...if your a do it yourselfer? I know a rebuild is up in the 1K area...I don't have that kind of cash at all...is this something I can get done myself? I need to get my car up and running again.

I see....but I mean is the tranny as complex as doing a gear swap? I mean if it's the 1-2nd gear synchro that's F34ked should I have a hard time replacing it? Does anyone know of a site or reference book that has the overhaul info on the T-56 for our cars? THis is really p*ssy....first all I need was a new flywheel...now it seems my 1st and 2nd gear are gone and I can't get my clutch out..of fist...all the other gears are still there though.
