Which sensor is this??

Sensor on the driver's side goes in the block right next to number one cylinder and I believe it has one wire attached to it.

it is a sending unit for the temp gauge

From: Hell was full so they sent me to NJ

That would be the coolant temp sensor, for the gauge, as noted above.
