Self vs Non-Alinging Rockers

I bought a set of P&P heads with 7/16 studs and guide plates. I already have the rockers that come with the HotCam kit, 3/8 SA.
Should I switch to non-self alinging, or just get some 3/8 studs and use the ones I have?
Car will be putting down, hopefully, 320-330rwhp after the heads get put on.

I was wondering what is the diff between self align and non self aligners anyways on a LT1. Can non self aligning rockers be used on a LT1? I'm not too far and go to Pensacola all the time swingrrr!!

Non self aligning simply means that you need guide plates to guide the pushrods.

Why don't you use the studs off of your stock heads. That would solve the whole issue, right?

I was thinking of that. I was just wondering which was better. Or advantages/disadvantages over them.

I went with non self-aligning when I did my head/cam swap. Mainly because it makes everything more universal.
Beware, though....The only company that makes "bolt on" guide plates for an LT1 is GM Performance Parts! COMP guide plates won't work...They're for a standard SBC, which had different valve spacing than an LT1.

swingrrr- I'm in Dothan,AL..southeast Alabama. 1 hour 45 mins away. I go fishing in Gulf Breeze about once a month. Do you know Brady from Mobile(he was in GM High Tech Performance magazine this month). They have a club and used to meet at Hooters down there(Mobile/Penscla) somewhere once a month.

Shucks. I guess that settles it. They are Competition 4084 I think. I'll just use my original studs.

Non-SA are supposedly a little more stable at high rpm. Or am I thinking backwards here?
