self-centering rockers and guidplates
The self centering rockers don't require guideplates and hardened puchrods but could you use them? For example, if I had the LT4 hot cam kit could I use guidplates and hardened pushrods to upgrade the durability (especially if I upgraded the cam)? I'm not aware of anything that would not allow this to work but I've never compared them side by side on a head.
It would work, but there is no benifit. I'm sure you can find better things to spend your money on. If you want to use guideplates and hardened rods, I would look into Comp Cams Pro Mag RR's (non SA), you could also move up to 7/16 studs while your at it.

I don't know... I think that adding guideplates might take a little of the work away from the rocker arm having to do all the centering.
You know, those self-centered rocker arms, they only think of themselves.

Yeah, a 7/16 stud is better but if the rockers were at a give-away price because somebody upgraded, thats what I'm talking about.
Actually the LT4 hotcam rockers are 7/16.
I could throw the guideplates and pushrods in relativly cheap while I've got the valve covers off.
