94 lt1 a4 - security light has been on for ~6 months. no problems. until about a week ago. the car would turn over and even fire for maybe 1 second. then it would just shut off. i could even get it started once in a while if i stomped the pedal when it fired. but it would miss horribly for 30 seconds then it would be fine. idled good and revved fast. but now it wont even turn over. we checked the starter and it was fine. any ideas on whats goin on? thanks, chris

But the fact that the car starts and then misses and dies suggests that its not the security system. Is the car throwing any codes? How's the fuel pressure? Are the coil, opti, plugs & wires all original?
