max lift 918 bee hive springs

Do the valve springs determine the max lift? If not, what does?

If so, can 918 bee hives handle 0.600 lift?

yes max is .600" when installed at the proper height. Need to make sure you don't have coil bind.

Valve springs can determine your maximum lift. Other variables include: piston to valve interference (cam duration usually plays more of a factor for this) and valve retainer to valve seal clearance.

New ones are rated at .625 lift with a coil bind of 1.100".

Very interesting, Comp has gone from a 313#/inch rate to 373. That is a
major difference in spring design.

When they switched suppliers is when more and more springs were
breaking on people .

Actually they switched suppliers about a year before all the springs started breaking. The "experts" on here were a little late on getting that memo.
