Security system bypass... Without vehicle BCM, just a ECM.

I am currently in the middle of a LT1 install into a '57 Chevy.

I am using the '97 drivetrain out of a Corvette (Engine, Transmission, Radiator, Original LT1 harness, and ECM). I do not want to use and aftermarket wiring system and am currently trying to get around the Pulse Width Modulated signal the ecm requires for injector pulse. Obviously the vehilce is not getting the BCM installed into it or I would be able to just use a resistor as a key substitute. Is the only way around this to disable the VATS on the ECM itself.

Thanks,
Danee Popovski

What all IS being installed on the car. if there is no theft module, relay etc etc then I dunno if the PCM will have any control over the system or not. If it does perhaps you could just get it programed out of the PCM. if not you could bypass the theft relay for the starter and then figure a way to shut down or bypass the injector control.

ttt

The only thing in the car is the stock harness and the stock LT1 PCM.

The PCM requires a Pulse Width Modulated signal from the BCM (dark blue wire, from BCM to PCM) to turn on the injectors. I have no BCM so I was wondering if you can just turn off the VATS on the PCM.

The VATS function can be disabled in the computer. I believe that should take care of your issue.
