On my way home tonight I got on it a little and my security light poped on. The car still ran fine then probably 5 min later the light went out. I scanned it before I turned the car off and there weren't any codes thrown. Anyone have a clue what would cause this?

Probably the key or the contacts in the key cylinder are dirty or the leads from the cylinder are losing connection.

 

How do I go about cleaning/checking that? Should I be very concerned?

Obviously, you can clean off the key. The cylinder could be cleaned with some electrical spray or whatever you could swab in there to wipe off the contacts. There is a 2 way connector under the dash that has wht/blk and ppl/wht wires in it coming from the column. It could be loose.

If the light comes on while driving, it won't shut your car down or anything. If it happens to be bad when you first try to start your car, then you probably will have a problem-you won't be able to start it.
