Security light and no start

I've searched this topic and read through all of the post but couldn't get a very good answer... I have a 94 Camaro with 130,xxx miles on it and have yet to have any problems with it until now. A couple of days ago I noticed that the security light was on while I was driving but didn't think much of it until I tried to start it today and got nothing. The radio and all that would come on but the engine would not kick over. I was getting really worried after trying to clean both of my keys and blow into the ignition and still getting nothing after many tries. Then a few hours later I tried and it started right up. I was getting happy until I shut it off and tried to start it again and got nothing. I tried a few more times then waited a little while and it started four times in a row. I figure it's the VATS so I need to know what to do about it. How do I disable it or any other suggestions. - Thanks Mike

It couldbe tw things...I had the same exact hing happen to me and I needed to put in a new lock cylinder. After I did that....it didn't start and I had to put in a new clutch switch. So your car might b doing the same thing mine did. Just my .02
