You need to find a new trans builder. There are Dozens of people out there who can build a 4L60-E to withstand 5-600 horsepower easily. Of course you have to pay for that but it can be done and it is done every day. When compared to what the Ford boys get for transmissions the 4L60-E is a fine piece of engineering.

I have to agree.
I have a built 4L60E from a local performance tranny builder, cost me 750 carry out and its been in for 2500 miles now with zero problems.
Finding someone who can build them to last is the biggest problem.
One of the guys in the local camaro club in town had a bonzo supercharged 94 putting down 575 rwhp and he went through 4 tranny builders before he found one that could do the job.
One guy guaranteed he could do it and the car did not make it all the way home before the tranny grenaded.

I recommend that you don't clam yourself.
I've done this on a few occasions and everytime I ended up in emergency getting it removed.

You can't find anyone to build a 4L60E for a mid 13 second car? Dirk (RACINLT1) has had a 4L60E I built him 2 1/2 years in the low 11 second zone, and it's street driven. His car now runs consistant 11.0's @ 124 MPH...IN DRIVE! Hell, I built my 700 3 years ago, and it's been in the 12's for all of them.

BTW, I wouldn't suggest "clamming" yourself, either...You might anger someone at PETA...LOL
