I'm wondering if anyone has dyno results from adding a full exhaust system (Headers, y-pipe, catback) using Mac headers.('94-'95 style preferred)

Even if you have dyno numbers from a different brand of shorties, I'd appreciate dyno number improvements.

I'm trying to decide between jet-hot coated MAC's '94-'95 style, ($565) or
SLP Coated '94-'95 shorties ($783)
or AS&M, but I can't find any info on shorties. Anyone have a price or link to '94-'95 style AS&M shorty headers?

I'm leaning towards the MAC's, Jet-Hot Coated.

I don't want Long Tubes.

O.k., maybe I'll ask another way.

How much is an exhaust like this worth, HP wise on a stock engine with CAI.

Mac '95 mid length headers, Off road Y pipe, Hooker Catback.

I thinking about 25-30 HP. (15-20 for the headers, 10 for the Catback)

Sound about right?

Just curious as to where you got that price from for the MAC's coated from Jet-Hot? Thanks. I'm probably getting MAC's too so I'd like to know if anyone had real numbers.

 

I think your pretty close on that. I've seen dyno's of catback offering about 10rwhp. When i did my catback i felt no SOTP gain but when i did my headers i sure felt one. So i would think headers would have to be closer to 20rwhp just in my opinion.

This page lists all the headers they sell for the camaro. The one's I'm looking to buy are part number TF94957. They are the MAC '94-'95 style with the longer primaries.

I dyno'd 235 HP with mac shorties, cc304, 52mm TB, K&N Cai, gutted cat .

Then later I found a reprieve, 2 cylinders with broke piston rings and 3 bent pushrods

Oh well forged 355 on the way

 

So you lost about 25 hp from the shorties?

Have you dynoed it since you fixed it?

While I don't have dyno numbers, here's what I do have. It's generally accepted that .1 and 1 mph in the 1/4 is equal to an approximate gain of 10 Hp on out cars. That said, when I went from my stock setup to my ASM header, Random Tech Cat and Cat back set up, I gained a solid repeatable .5 and 5 mph in the 1/4. Take that as you will.

 

Were the ASM headers a shorty, or midlength style? I can't find any info on ASM shorties or midlengths, only longtubes.

Arizona Speed & Marine headers are a 1 3/4" primary Mid-Length header.

 

Oh yeah. It threw me off that their web site says long-tube headers. Looking at the pictures though, it's obvious that they are mid-length.

Nope,no new numbers yet, the motor is sitting in pieces in my garage awaiting funds . I'll just be happy if it runs reliably again.

 

No dyno #'s except the "1320 ft. dyno". Times and mods are in sig.

That's what I'm looking for! Wow, sweet times. It verify's that LT1's can still go pretty dang fast with shorties.
