seams that rearend is shifted to one side

I just bought a set of zr1 all the way around. The rear is 17x11's. When I mounted the wheels, I noticed that the driver side wheel was sticking out further than the pass side. When I took some measurements, I found the rearend to be shifted to the driverside a half of an inch. This does not sound like alot, but thats the difference in the wheels tucking under the fenders. What can I do to fix this? Is this a common problem because I have ran across this on older cars? If this can't be fixed, I will be selling these wheels.

Sounds like probably a bent panhard rod, or possibly bad bushings. Take a look at the bar that's bolted to the rear end, and goes across and bolts to the body.

It's common with lowering or adding those wide rims. You'll need an aftermarket adjustable panhard rod. I recommend BMR and Spohn. www.bmrfabrication.com www.spohn.net

Installation is very simple too.

Ditto! Not a big problem to fix.

I figured the bar was bent. I already ordered an adjustable bar. Just wanted to see what you got thought about it and if it was common. I've never come across this on a 4thgen before.

My driver's side is about 1/2" farther out then passenger side. Just happens. Panhard bar will fix it.

I hear that is a common problem on V6 models, haha!!! Make room in your garage for a REAL musclecar, we're starting that project soon.

hey John, I hear that nuts & bolts increase horsepower when thrown into a new motor. I'll have to try that when I build your motor! HAHAHAHA!
