Who relied only on that little rubber o ring seal for their CSR water pump? My housing was a little corroded, so I cleaned it up with a wire wheel on my dremel, but its still pitted. So, I was thinking of using RTV sealant too. I wouldn't use alot, just a nice bead around the whole thing to make sure I don't have a leaky b*tch when Im done. Yay or Ney?

 

I've done it both ways and it didn't leak either way. I used rtv on my SS b/c there were a couple small imperfections in the sealing surface.

 

was it a beotch gettin it back apart later, or have you gotten that far yet?

 

I used some RTV. Worked great. Not sure if I used the seal, I cant remember that part.

The seal is holding fine on mine.

 

Seal is fine on mine... it was the freeze plug on mine that leaked some. We just quicksteel'd it.

 

I was thinkin of using the intake manifold sealant on that plug, then beat it in. Looks like I will do that now. So, even on a corroded face that little rubber o ring sealed good? interesting.
