Sealant on copper head gasket?
Just got in my set of copper SCE head gaskets and ARP head studs and I have a few questions. I was reading the instructions and it says to add sealent to the gasket and I was wondering what type to use. I was also wondering how to torque the head studs? I will be using ATV Orange for the threads into the block. But I was going to use 10W30 on the threads before torqueing. I belive it is 75 FtLbs? then let it warm up and retorque? Is that correct?
Thanks

Re: Sealant on copper head gasket?
Spray on copper coat is a great gasket sealant and is what I recommend. Put the studs in with some teflon paste, it seals better than anything else you can use and will actually come out of the threads and block if you do remove the studs down the road. Use some straight 30w engine oil if your not gonna use the arp moly, its what the torque specs are figured at. I don't have the torque specs for oil but you can find them printed on the back of the box your studs came in or go to the chart at ARP's website.
