SDI or LTCC...need opinoins

I have had enough with this distributor. Left me stranded last night for a half hour at the nissan dealership. Need opinions on which one is better. I read a post last night that the SDI tech 3 doesnt work on 8 cylinder cars but that was an older post so I dont know if they have fixed it. Thanks

The LTCC uses/needs the opti for it's hi/low resolution signals.

Here is a couple of links for you. The first contains discussions about the LTCC (Pros/Cons) and the second is the LTCC install page with some pics and details. It seams reasonable to me that if the opti is still good on the signal generating side that it is an easy and reliable way to go. From what I gather the high voltage side is what goes first (just like the cap and rotor on a regular distributor) but when it starts arcing to the "cap" and other areas, it can take out the low voltage "signal" side. If that happens you have to change out the opti before you can upgrade to the LTCC. I wish there was a "bolt in" crank trigger substitute "kit" that would eliminate the whole thing but I haven't read of one.

Down the road Megajolt JR will be available to run a wasted spark setup, from a Ford EDIS setup, very nice. One coil for 2 plugs, you can use the Ford coil (I bought mine for $6) or you can use something else if prefered.

Or standard Megajolt will drive a full coil on a plug setup, for about $200 in parts, you will need a mag trigger to get that one working.

Or, there is always mag trigger, one or two coil, MSD/Crane/Accel setup.
